Ashgrove House Hotel

Great guest house with nice comfy and quiet rooms with en suite bathroom (note that you need to turn on the power to the shower in the bedroom using the red switch). Breakfast cooked to order and delicious. Perfect location, 200m from haymarket railway station, close to bus stop to either go into town or on line 100 to the airport.

Beautifully kept property. Room was perfect for our 2 night stay. Best quality and tasting breakfast I have had in an Airbnb.

Single room w shared bathroom This stay was a delight! The single room was perfect as a solo traveller and the shared bathroom was hardly an inconvenience as there’s a basin in the room so I didn’t need the bathroom as much. The building is just gorgeous and opposite a giant castle. The complimentary big breakfast was also delicious. Staff was super friendly and helped me carry my 23kg luggage up and down the stairs! It’s slightly outside the heart of the city but only a 25min walk which I didn’t mind. Would definitely recommend

The couple who runs this hotel was really nice, nothing was to much trouble. They made us feel very welcome. Our double room was nice and clean. Bed was a bit uncomfortable but everything else was great. The breakfast was lovely. It was about a 20 minute walk into the town centre but there is a bus stop out side the hotel if you dont want to walk. Have had a great week celebrating my partners 50th birthday. I would definitely stop at this hotel again and i would highly recommend this hotel.

Service was fast and efficient. Breakfast had many options including an English breakfast, staff was friendly and helpful. Room was quite spacious for a 13 square meter small double and the location was pretty nice. Walking distance from the Haymarket station. Slight problem, the hotel doesn't have a lift but the owner of the hotel was very helpful and offered to take my luggage to my room.

Definitely a great position, close to everything. The room was nice and warm and the host was very good. Coming from Australia I really didn't like the showers - we are used to more water pressure down under - but I understand this is a fact of life in some of these older buildings in the UK.

For the price the best thing about this accomodations is the location. You are right outside downtown Edinburgh. It was a 5 to 10 minutes walk to the tram or a 25 minute walk to the city centre. We stayed on the top floor with a great view of the college across the street. Unfortunately the stairs were VERY steep to get to the room. The room itself was decent and comfortable. The bed wasn't great and the bathroom was very small. It definitely wasn't worth the price we paid, but we did enjoy not having to drive around Edinburgh much.

The staff were very kind and the room was cozy and comfortable. I loved breakfast and the city centre only being 20 minutes away by foot. Hope to come back again someday !!
